By now, the families of our students have received a call and email from Superintendent Bandfield about the threat we received today. We want to reassure our community that our students and staff are safe.
We are grateful tonight for our remarkable staff and students who followed their training to keep everyone safe, our parents who anxiously awaited each update and trusted us to care for their children, and our new lockout system that helped us assure that students could move quickly to places of safety.
We are also grateful for the cooperation and support of law enforcement as well as our community and our board who sure we have everything need to keep our students are safe. Student safety is always first in mind for us.
Lawton Community Schools will be open as usual on Thursday, March 27.
